debulking surgeryA diagnosis of granulosa cell tumour is usually followed by debulking surgery. This abdominal surgery is carried out because cancer has been found in the ovaries. An incision is made in the abdomen which runs from the pubic bone to above the navel. The ultimate purpose of the surgery is to remove all visible tumour tissue, at least in so far as this is possible. |
If you would like to find out more about how the tumour forms and read Dutch research about this, you can find more information on the website of the UMC Utrecht |
